The Hidden Dangers of Vaccines: What You Need to Know
“Every skin problem you see is due to vaccinations, without fail. Later in life, arthritic conditions and degenerative spinal diseases are the result of vaccines. The rabies vaccine in dogs and cats causes so many problems, it isn’t funny, personality changes, skin issues, damage to the thyroid and endocrine systems. It lowers the immune system tremendously, making the animal vulnerable to nearly any disease.”
—John Fudens, D.V.M.
These words from a respected veterinarian say it all. The harmful effects of vaccines are undeniable, especially when you see the long-term consequences. Skin and ear issues, behavior changes like aggression or fearfulness, even severe immune suppression, these are all too common in pets following vaccination.
The Vaccine Trap: How It Affects Your Pet
“The most common problems I see that are directly related to vaccines are ear and skin conditions, chronic discharge and itching, behavior problems, fearfulness, aggression, all of these begin shortly after vaccination and get worse with each additional vaccine. I see the overall health and longevity of animals deteriorating. The body has an incredible ability to detoxify poisons, but even it has limits. We overwhelm the immune system with toxins from vaccines, poor-quality foods, insecticides, and environmental toxins.”
—Pat Bradley, D.V.M., Conway
It’s heartbreaking to witness a once-healthy pet decline after being vaccinated. Their natural resilience gets stripped away, leaving them exposed to all sorts of ailments. Ear infections, skin allergies, digestive issues, seizures, it’s a downward spiral.
Questioning the Annual Vaccine Myth
“The idea of annual vaccines is really questionable. There is no basis for the practice. A lot of chronic conditions develop sometime after, chronic ear infections, digestive problems, seizures, skin conditions, and behavioral problems.”
—Stephen R. Blake, D.V.M., San Diego, CA
Why do we keep vaccinating our pets annually without questioning the necessity? Many chronic conditions emerge months or even years after these vaccinations. Seizures, digestive distress, and skin conditions all point to a body overwhelmed by unnecessary vaccines.
The Connection Between Vaccines and Allergies
One compelling study exposed a group of dogs to an allergen (pollen) after being vaccinated. These dogs developed atopic dermatitis and conjunctivitis, whereas the group vaccinated after allergen exposure did not. This study clearly shows that vaccines can trigger an allergic state in pets.
Canine Health Concern’s survey of over 4,000 dogs found that 56.9% of dogs with conjunctivitis and 61.2% of dogs with skin issues developed symptoms within three months of a vaccine shot. Most conditions began within a week of the shot.
If It’s Not Vaccines, What Else Could Be Causing Itchiness?
Sometimes, dogs experience itching and irritation even without being recently vaccinated. Before you panic, check out some other potential culprits:
New Carpet: If your carpet is less than five years old, it’s still releasing toxins. Carpeting accounts for 90% of indoor toxins, and your dog spends most of its time lying on it. Even if your dog’s a couch potato like mine, they love to find a cozy patch of sunlight on the floor.
Carpet Cleaning Products: Be cautious about what you use to clean your carpets. Most carpet soaps are extremely toxic. It’s better to make your own non-toxic solution or, better yet, get rid of the carpet altogether.
Type of Flooring: Flooring can also be a source of toxins. When we ripped out the carpet in our last house, even though it was relatively new, we replaced it with real hardwood that we stained naturally. Other options include Marmoleum or wool carpeting, although wool can be tricky with stains and some people (and dogs!) are allergic to it.
Laundry Detergent: Commercial laundry soaps can be toxic. Consider making your own, it’s easy and much better for your pet’s health.
Artificial Fragrances: Candles, perfumes, air fresheners, and toxic cleaning products can wreak havoc on your pet’s health. Try to eliminate these and make your own natural alternatives. They’re not only cheaper, but they work better too!
It’s so important to be mindful of what your pet is exposed to, inside and out. Vaccines aren’t the only toxin they face, but they’re a major one and in many cases, avoidable. Be proactive about your pet’s health, and always do your research before making any decisions about vaccines.
